Fallout New Vegas Info

Alright people, here is what I have been able to eek out of all the repetitive info and total bull@*(#) that has been posted online about Vegas. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS TO PARTS OF THE GAME INTRO OR TO SOME OF THE NEW FEATURES. YEE ALL BE WARNED OF THE DANGER. If you are still with me, here is some of the stuff so far:

-You can customize your age.

-Besides karma, there is now a system that is called "Reputation". By that, I mean killing an entire town and then donating 100 caps to the local church doesn't cut it anymore. Your character actually makes a name for himself/herself as you run through the game, making certain options available while removing some others.

-The Hoover dam is in operation and is a major power vacuum for the local gangs.

-There are 2 confirmed factions in the game: Cesar's legion and the New California Republic. The Brotherhood of Steel is rumored to also play some role.

-You are not born in the Vaults, but rather are a Currier who was beaten and left for dead in the waste.

-At some point there will be hostel stealthed super mutants.

-At some point, you can gain a portable control console for an orbiting space laser satellite and use it throughout the game.

-There will be some sort of command wheel that helps you control your companion/follower.

-There will be an optional hardcore mode that will change some things, like: Stimpacks healing slower, you can getting dehydrated, and ammo being weighted. I'd shy away from this little option till the second run through.

-Obviously, there are all new critters to shoot at so I won't ruin that.

-Almost forgot that weapons are now custom modifiable. EPIC!!

-Some weapons have special moves that do special things. (With the golf club you yell "fooor!")

I did warn you about in game info stuff, but to rap it all up into a nut shell, Fallout New Vegas looks epic and I am psyched for it to come out, which, according to Obsidian, will be on November 16th, 2010. But on the Gamestop sight it says pre-orders ship Ocotober 1st, so we will see what happens.

  1. 1. I'd like to thank you for all your posts lately. I've been busy and It's nice that the site isn't collecting dust.

    2. While your writing is much improved, I'm still having to fix it. It's mostly that you inappropriately use the word "their" instead of "there" or "they're." As such, I refer you to the following pages: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-difference-between-there-their-and-theyre.htm and http://copyediting-grammar-style.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_difference_between_there_their_and_theyre

Sorry to be annoying, but that's what you get when you're friends with an English major.

  2. I accept the criticism with a bowed head and appreciate the fact that you actually have been correcting my post. I also acknowledge that grammar is not my strong point, seeing as it is the devil who sleeps with the demon known as math. Anyway, I will try to check my grammar more carefully in the future.

  3. you've decided to major in English Fuzunga? Very nice.

BTW, will the VATs system be a massive part in this game's combat?

  4. They say that VATS is still a major role, but for those people who want to get up close and personal with melee weapons, the game should play much more friendly than Fallout 3 was. It didn't specify whether or not this "friendlyness" was in VATS mode or by hand control.
I almost forgot, the ending will actualy change based on your character.

  5. @ Kromebear

Creative Writing, actually. I got in after submitting my story a few weeks ago. But I still have to take a buttload of English classes, obviously.

  6. The Best Buy where I live (Toronto) said they had September 13th on their system as the release date.

  7. The Coach handbags
brand started over fifty years ago, in a small family run workshop. This original group of Coach Wristlet
artisans were fascinated with the leather characteristics of a baseball glove. Both the distinctive details of the glove’s design and the ability of the leather to become softer and supple with each catch, were employed in the creative concept behind the first Coach Ergo
. The tanned glove leather has become ingrained in the Coach Gallery
    tradition.
