Review: Mario Kart Wii
posted by
Fuzunga
Mario Kart Wii is basically more of the same, yet slightly lacking. First of all, there are far too many characters in the game. There's no need for 24 characters when they all play the same. The difference comes in the weight class, and, even then, that only means you get to drive different cars. Everyone in the same weight class drives the same cars. The game could have three characters and it wouldn't make any difference. And they're scraping the bottom of the barrel here, too. They've got baby Mario, baby Peach, baby Luigi, and baby Daisy. Come on, guys! Seriously?
The new levels range from bland to awesome. The later stages consist of some of the most challenging tracks in Mario Kart history, and they're awesome. I just wish there were more of them. The "retro" tracks (Just how retro are tracks from the DS anyway?) are a nice touch, but instead of being a best-of collection it seems to be just the opposite. The majority of these old levels are dull and unnecessary. And does anybody really want to drive courses from Super Mario Kart in 2D? No thanks. And the multiplayer courses were all made for 12 players only. That means they're huge. Thankfully, the retro battle levels are a lot better than the race courses. Speaking of multiplayer, you can play online but I won't address that in this review because I am unable to connect to WiFi.
Now, for the stuff they took out. Co-op play is gone as well as the Shine Thief multiplayer mode. It's a shame because both of these were great and really extended the life of the game. To my knowledge, balloon battle can only be played with teams. On another sour note, they should fire the guy who did the music for this game as every piece lacks any kind of goodness. Really, the music is atrocious and none of the pieces seem to match the courses. Also, the graphics are noticeably
crappy.
So, what exactly is new and good about this game? Well, they've added some new items such as the pow block and mega mushroom. In my opinion, these are quite cheap and annoying. Driver AI is also now extremely unforgiving. I often find myself being hit with about three things at once and dropping from first to ninth in a matter of seconds. While this is occasionally frustrating, it is quite the challenge which makes for more fun. You can also drive motorcycles and preform stunts. I thought these would be lame gimmicks but they're actually quite awesome. The motorcycles drive well and you can do wheelies with them. Tricks can be performed of jumps and give you a boost of speed when you land. There's also now vertical boost pads on stages for doing stunts. Cart hopping is back with powersliding and it works just like it did in DS.
Of course, the biggest addition to the game is the new controls. I have to say, they're simply fantastic. The wheel makes such a big difference in control and, once you get used to it (it takes all of 10 minutes) you'll never want to go back. I know I don't!
So in summary, the level design is good for the most part, the multiplayer is lacking, there are far too many unnecessary things to unlock, the music and graphics are crap, motorcycles are cool, and it controls like a dream. Pick it up if you're a die hard fan. Otherwise, Double Dash and DS (my personal series favorite) will suffice. This is, of course, unless you want to try out the awesome new controls.

Top 10 Most Powerful Superheroes
posted by
Anonymous
Since the Dawn of mankind, geeks and nerds alike have battled over one question: Who is the most powerful Superhero?
Well today my friends I will give you my own assessment on who I think are the top ten most powerful heroes.
About the list:
-Does not included celestial/cosmic powers such as the Jean Grey in her Phoniex form.
-Super hero vs Super hero battles will be taken into account.
-Will included heroes from Marvel, D.C., and Image Comics.
Well lets get started!
# 10 The Green Lantern
D.C. Hero

The Green Lantern is part of a small coalition of universal cops composed of many different races. These specially chosen individuals are given rings of power to uphold justice and maintain universal stability. Each Green Lantern is assigned a sector in the universe to patrol.
All of the Green Lantern's abilities stem from the power of his or her ring. The ring itself is powered by the users willpower and it is a very versatile weapon. The Green Lantern can use his ring to summon a shield, make a giant weapon, or even use it as a tractor beam. Really there is very little he Green Lantern cannot do with the ring, which makes him a strong choice for the #10 spot on the list.
#9 The Hulk
Marvel Hero

One day Dr. Robert Bruce Banner was experimenting with gamma rays. Accidentally, Dr. Bruce Banner blasted himself with these rays transforming him into the Hulk, a giant green behemoth with unsurpassed physical power.
The Hulk boast a variety of powers. The most obvious one is super strength, but the Hulk also has phenomenal regeneration abilities and is nearly indestructible. On top of all these powers the Hulk also becomes more powerful as he fights, meaning in a long fight the Hulk has the potential to be the strongest Super Hero.
Quick note: I see a lot of comments pertaining to how the Hulk is the strongest hero ever and that Superman nor Sentry compare to him. This is false, both Superman and Sentry have a much higher base strength than the Hulk and it would take the Hulk a long time to reach their level, much less surpass it.
The Hulk vs The Green Lantern: The Green Lantern is tough and his ring may last on a almost never ending supply of willpower, but the Hulk would be the victor in the end. The Hulks sheer power and brute force would quickly overpower the Green Lantern.
#8 Spawn
Image Comics Hero

Spawn was once a man who worked for the CIA. However Spawn's boss had him killed for knowing a bit too much. Upon his death Spawn was sent to hell. In the fiery dimension full of brimstone, Spawn made a deal with devil that allowed him to go back to Earth as part demon. Spawn accepted the offer and now seeks revenge on those who betrayed him.
To start off, Spawn is extremely fast, strong, and durable. He can only be killed by being decapitated by a heavenly weapon and controls an array of magical powers. However his magical powers are finite so he cannot use them too often.
Spawn vs The Green Lantern: The Green Lantern is powerful, but Spawn is fast, clever, and strong with a host of magical powers. Spawn could overpower the Green Lantern easily.
Spawn vs The Hulk: It would be a long difficult battle. Both combatants have super strength and regeneration, although the Hulk has faster regeneration and is stronger. However Spawn still holds an advantage here being more tactical and clever than the Hulk.
#7 Thor
Marvel Hero

Thor is the son of Odin who is basically a god and king of all the other gods in Asgard. That already should be enough of a reason of why he is so powerful.
Thor wields a mighty battle hammer called Mjnor into battle. This magical hammer is the source of Thor's power and enables him to control some aspects of the weather and fly. Thor also posses super strength comparable to Superman.
Thor vs The Green Lantern: Thor would easily beat the Green Lantern. I can't really think of anything the Green Lantern could do that could actually cause any serious damage to Thor.
Thor vs The Hulk: The Hulk is not nearly as strong as Thor when he starts out, nor is he has fast. Thor has the advantage here in both strength and speed.
Thor vs Spawn: Thor has some experience in fighting demons which already puts him at an advantage. Thor is not only stronger than Spawn, but his magical powers are infinite while Spawns are finite and any magic used against Thor would be absorbed by his hammer.
#6 Black Bolt
Marvel Hero

Black Bolt was an inhuman part of a genetics experiment. At birth, his parents soon discovered he had strong manipulation of energy which was especially potent through the use of his voice. Sometime later in his life Black Bolt shot down an enemy ship through use of his powers. However, the ship it ended up crashing into his parents ship and killing them instantly. Ever since then Black Bolt has been extremely careful when he uses his voice, in fact he never talks unless in combat, since even a small whisper from him can level an entire city. Recently Black Bolt has helped The Avengers and the Fantastic Four in various missions, even though during their first encounter Black Bolt completely destroyed the Fantastic Four.
Black Bolt's powers include energy manipulation, most notably through his super sonic scream. Through energy manipulation he also has super strength, speed, and durability. It is said his Super Sonic scream at full power could make a planet explode.
Black Bolt vs The Green Lantern: There really isn't much competition here. Black Bolt would win easily, all he would have to do is scream and break down any of the green Lantern's shields. There's really nothing GL can do to stop Black Bolts attacks, nor is there much the GL can do either to really hurt Black Bolt.
Black Bolt vs the Hulk: The only time The Hulk was ever a threat to Black Bolt was during the World War Hulk series. Normal enraged Hulk stands no chance against Black Bolt.
Black Bolt vs Spawn: Black Bolt would quickly over power Spawn. Spawn has very few abilities to resist Black Bolts powers. He might get a few hits in, but would ultimately lose.
Black Bolt vs Thor: Thor is incredibly strong and fast, but Black Bolt is no pushover either. With a voice that can make an entire planet explode. Thor doesn't really stand a chance.
#5 Superman
D.C. Hero

Superman was born on a planet known as Krypton. He is the sole survivor of his home world and draws his immense strength and powers from the yellow sun. Superman has a crippling weakness to kryptonite which has been exploited many times against him.
Superman has a large arsenal of powers. Out of every single comic book hero that was ever created, Superman is undoubtedly the strongest. No one truly knows just how powerful he can become since he seems to hold back most of the time. The man of steel is also the third fastest superhero right behind Flash and the Silver Surfer. Superman posses the abilities to freeze foes with his breath or melt them with heat vision. He is invulnerable to most types of attacks, which makes him one of the most resilient hero ever created as well.
Superman vs The Green Lantern: Superman is way to fast for the green Lantern. Also like Thor and The Hulk, if Superman gets trapped by the rings power he can easily break it's hold. The ring can create extremely large powerful weapons, but Superman is extremely resilient and wouldn't take much damage from the rings power anyway.
Superman vs The Hulk: Superman has already beaten the Hulk, twice. While The Hulk has the potential to become stronger than Superman,Superman's starting base power is much higher than the Hulks. He is also faster and and versatile which gives him an edge against the green behemoth.
Superman vs Spawn: Spawn is powerful, and he does have magic which is one of Superman's weaknesses. The problem with Spawn is however his magic is limited, and Spawns usual weapons won't work on Superman too effectively.
Superman vs Thor: This is an epic battle I would love to see happen. Thor has a magical hammer that is effective against Superman, but in the end Superman is simply too strong and too fast for Thor to keep up with.
Superman vs Black Bolt: While Black Bolt at full power may be able to destroy an entire planet, Superman has survived the core of a Star exploding. It's safe to say that Black Bolt will give Superman a good fight, but in the end Superman would prevail.
#4 Dr. Strange
Marvel Hero

Dr. Strange became the apprentice of a powerful entity known as the ancient one after suffering an accident that effectively ended his medical career. After many years of training, the Ancient One asked Dr. Strange to take his place, thus handing the title of Sorcerer Supreme to Dr. Strange.
Dr. Strange is The Supreme Sorcerer of the Universe, and his power pretty much limitless. He can create bolts of magic so powerful they can level a city, or restrain heroes like the Hulk with magic bonds. Dr. Strange can also use magic to make himself much more resilient than the average human, and is by no means frail.
Dr. Strange vs The Green Lantern: Dr. Strange's magic is much more powerful than the Green Lanterns ring. The Green Lantern would be overpowered within a few minutes.
Dr. Strange vs The Hulk: Dr. Strange has defeated the Hulk several times. His magic is simply to powerful for the Hulk to overcome, not to mention that he is a much smarter fighter than the Hulk.
Dr. Strange vs Spawn: Most of the enemies Dr. Strange fights are demons. Dr. Strange would have no trouble quickly dispatching Spawn.
Dr. Strange vs. Thor: Thor is highly magic resistant. This would be a tough fight for Strange but he could still pull it off.
Dr. Strange vs Black Bolt: Dr. Strange is willing to go farther than Black Bolt to win a fight. While Black Bolt may hold back on using his full power Strange certainly won't.
Dr. Strange vs Superman: Superman has three weakness: Kryptonite, Red Sun radiation, and Magic. You could make the argument that Superman is vastly faster and stronger than Strange, but Strange is Sorcerer Supreme, and Superman has never done well against magical foes.
#3 Sentry
Marvel Hero

Robert Reynolds was a high school student who happened to drink the secret formula of one of his Professors. After defeating the school bully with his newly acquired powers, Robert Reynolds decided from there on he would become a Superhero. He renamed himself Sentry.
The Sentry's powers are similar to Superman's: invulnerability, flight, super strength. Sentry nearly equals Superman in all these areas except Strength, and on top of that Sentry has physic abilities that even rival that of Professor X and Phoenix. Many speculate he has more powers that are not known yet.
Sentry vs Green Lantern: Like Superman, Sentry is to fast and powerful for the Green Lantern even to touch.
Sentry vs The Hulk: The Sentry absolutely destroys the Hulk. The Hulk can't beat Superman, and he sure as hell can't beat Sentry.
Sentry vs Spawn: The Sentry is extremely resistant to any of Spawns attacks, including his limited magic.
Sentry vs Thor: Thor is fast and strong, but Sentry is faster and stronger. Thor's magical Hammer won't help him out much here either, since Sentry is extremely resilient towards it.
Sentry vs Black Bolt: Black Bolt really can't match Sentry in terms of speed and strength.
Sentry vs Superman: While Superman has physical advantages over Sentry, Sentry also has physic abilities. With these abilities Sentry could subdue Superman into defeat.
Sentry vs Dr. Strange: As i stated before, Sentry is very resistant to most attacks including magic. Dr. Strange is pure magic, he won't be able to harm Sentry that much, on the other hand however Sentry will be able to do a lot of damage to Dr. Strange.
#2 The Silver Surfer
Marvel Hero

Not much is known about the Silver Surfer. We know his name is Norrin Radd, and out of desperation to save his planet, he begged Galactacus to make him his herald in order to save his planet. Glactacus accepted the proposal and gave Norrin Radd a portion of his cosmic powers to be his herald.
Instead of asking the question what can the Silver Surfer do, it's better to ask what can this mother fucker do? To start off he can travel at speeds faster than light it self, making him the fastest hero to ever have been created. He is nearly indestructible, can phase through matter, fire particle beams, has super strength, can create illusions, expand his size, is resistant to any type of extreme temperatures or poison, can heal wounds (although he cannot raise the dead), and create life.
The Silver Surfer vs The Green Lantern: The Silver Surfer can fly circles around the Green Lantern and manipulate the ring to not work for him.
Silver Surfer vs The Hulk: Another easy match for the Surfer. He can fly around the Hulk all day and simply keep blasting him until the giant green behemoth collapses from exhaustion.
Silver Surfer vs Spawn: Spawn really can't do anything against invulnerable foes like the Surfer. Even magic doesn't phase him!
Silver Surfer vs Thor: Thor really doesn't stand a chance. The surfer is fast and stronger than Thor and can easily defeat the Asgardian God. Not to mention the Surfer can destroy Thor's hammer.
Silver Surfer vs Black Bolt: Black Bolt is potent at manipulating energy, but so is the Surfer. It would be an interesting fight to see, but in the end the Silver Surfer would probably win because of his sheer speed and strength.
Silver Surfer vs Superman: Superman is stronger and more resilient than the Surfer, but not nearly as fast. The Silver Surfer would probably be able to blast Superman with kryptonite or red sun radiation weakening the man of steel.
Silver Surfer vs Dr. Strange: Magic doesn't work well against the Surfer. Dr. Strange is pure magic and would lose quickly.
Silver Surfer vs Sentry: Sentry's only advantage is that he is stronger than the surfer. Physic attacks don't work well against the Surfer and Norrin Radd would probably blast Sentry into defeat.
Now are you ready for the number one hero, the most powerful of all heroes in comic book history?
Drum roll please!
#1 MOST POWERFUL HERO IN COMIC BOOK HISTORY
Frank Richards
Marvel Hero

Lol. I know he doesn't look like much but let me explain. Frank Richards got his incredible psionic powers from the cosmic rays his mother was exposed to, the same one that changed the fantastic four and gave them their powers. Richards had to place mind blocks on himself to restrain his power. Many people theorize that the blocks have faded over time making him even more powerful. At one point Richard lost his powers. The moment he gained them back however it actually temporarily disrupted the time space continuum. Now thats power.
*A NOTE FROM N-MAN* psionic: adj- pertaining to the telepathic, psychic, or paranormal (for those who were confused)
Frank Richard has incredible psionic abilities. His abilities are so powerful he can actually create pocket universes and rearrange matter on a cosmic level. When at full power, Frank Richards can fire enormous energy blast enough to destroy planets and has incredible telekinetic powers. He also has the ability to see into the future, although he cannot control this aspect of his power himself.
Richards is almost to powerful to be on the list, yet he just makes it. Even with the partial mind block, Richards is still powerful enough to defeat the other heroes on this list.
Frank Richards vs The Green Lantern: Frank Richard would blast the Green Lantern into non existence, and there is nothing the Green Lantern can do to stop him.
Frank Richards vs the Hulk: Frank Richards can easily destroy the Hulk with a few psionic blast. And if worse comes to worst Richards just send the Hulk into a pocket universe he creates.
Frank Richards vs Spawn: Spawn can't even touch Richards. He won't get then feet with in the Psionic titan without being incinerated to thrown hundreds of miles away by telekinesis.
Frank Richards vs Thor: Thor might be a God, but Richards can stop Thor right in his tracks and possibly destroy his hammer (yes Thor's hammer has been destroyed before, but it's not an easy task.)
Frank Richards vs Black Bolt: Richards has even stronger manipulation of energy than Black Bolt does. He could probably use Black Bolts attacks against him.
Frank Richards vs Superman: Frank Richards psionic ability would be powerful enough to even restrain Superman, one of the strongest heroes ever created. Richards would have no problems defeating Superman at all.
Frank Richards vs Dr. Strange: Richards can easily shield himself from Dr. Strange's attacks and then blast Strange into defeat with energy attacks
Frank Richards vs Sentry: This might be tough for Richards, however in the end Sentry would probably be defeated from exhaustion. He is nearly invulnerable, but blasts strong enough to destroy planets would even fatigue this powerful titan.
Frank Richards vs The Silver Surfer: This would be an interesting fight. The Silver Surfer is fast and strong, not to mention he can control energy and matter as well as Richards. Richards can't even throw The Silver Surfer into anther dimension since the Surfer has the ability to cross into other dimensions. In the end Richards would most like win, however it would not be an easy battle.
Well today my friends I will give you my own assessment on who I think are the top ten most powerful heroes.

Movie Review: Speed Racer

Wow. I hardly know what to think about this movie. It's definitely the most extreme thing I've ever seen in my life (well, maybe second- but only to Hot Fuzz). It's also the most colorful. Speed Racer certainly is entertaining, though... in a strange sort of way. What makes the movie so... unique, is that it takes itself seriously, but you can't possibly. There is a plot, and it's complex, hell, I even got lost sometimes, but the way it's presented completely cancels it out. Instead of paying attention to the plot you find yourself sitting there with your mouth agape trying to contemplate how impossible that thing that just happened was. I mean, everything looks like it's been ripped from the pages of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And the dude's name is Speed Racer. No, his real name. His first name is Speed and his last name is Racer as in the Racer family. What. The. Fuck. And who can forget Inspector Detector. And Chim-Chim. Ah, Chim-Chim. He certainly makes the movie better. Who doesn't love monkeys in overalls?
That being said, the movie is extremely entertaining. It's supposed to be serious, but it's not, and maybe that makes it better. It sure is funnier that way. I must say, though, the special affects are incredible. The whole movie is basically green-screened, but that's okay because it's awesome. Speed Racer is obviously about racing and there's plenty of it. And it is fantastic. Completely unrealistic and crazy, but fantastic. In fact, nobody even drives. The racers simply push buttons as their cars spin around 360 degrees. The movie gets especially awesome when they start using crazy gadgets. Stuff blows up into neon colors, cars zoom by, hubcaps fight each other... it's crazy stuff. The kind of stuff you can really only appreciate on an acid trip. Maybe that's its called Speed Racer because you have to be on speed to understand it. The movie also has the greatest fight scene ever- with ninjas! Yes, Speed Racer has everything including the kitchen sink and ninjas.
I say go watch Speed Racer for the experience. You'll have a good blast. Just be careful not to overdose on extreme.
And, yes, this is the movie referred to in the Iron Man review.

Movie Review: Iron Man

When I first heard they were making an Iron Man movie I thought to myself, "That's another comic book series they're gonna destroy with a bad movie." When I first saw a preview for it I though, "That looks like it's gonna be bad." Then, just prior to the movie's release, I read a review for it. What? It's a good movie? Can't be. Now I've got to go see for myself. Guess what? It was good. Real good. In fact, It's one of the better comic-based movies of recent times and probably one of the best super hero movies.
I especially liked how they brought the story of Iron Man to the present day. They took Tony Stark and made him a POW in the Middle East. They tell him they want him to build a missile for them, and they've got all the supplies. Out of desperation he creates a suit instead and out of necessity he creates the very thing that will both save his life and threaten to destroy it.
Iron Man isn't one of those movies that overwhelms you with special effects (unlike another recent release). Sure there's action and awesome effects, but they're used in moderation. The movie actually has a plot. And it's a good plot at that. My only wish is that maybe, just maybe, there could have been a teensy bit more of those awesome action sequences. But don't worry, that doesn't detract from the movie. You'll keep watching because you find yourself caring about the characters and the situations they're in. Did I mention Robert Downey Jr. does an excellent job with his character. Tony Stark is the kind of man that's selfish, yet caring, yet doesn't care what others think of him.
So the characters are well developed, the plot is good, and the action is awesome. What more do you need? I'll tell you something, in the end, what makes this movie so good is believability. Some super hero movies are kind of out there (*cough*hulk*cough*), but Iron Man seems completely plausible (though it's still impossible). Unlike another recent release I mentioned above, you don't watch Iron Man and say, "Stop yer damn talking! I don't care about the story! The story is stupid! I want more action and uber effects!" No sir, you say, "Whoa, I wasn't expecting that! I wonder what will happen next. Oh, look, uber effects!"
And that's why Iron Man rocks. Plus, they play the song at the end.

Bear and bird are back. Again.

Posts of substance are coming soon. As soon as the busy stops... In the mean time, it appears to be the Xbox Spring Showcase today. Several games were shown off, but the big one was Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. That's right, the new Banjo game, unfortunately, won't be named Banjo Threeie. Nuts and Bolts takes things in a new direction for the franchise, not only in art style but in gameplay as well. Gone are the magic Mumbo transformations and zany bird-based attacks. Instead, you'll find a variety of parts scattered around levels. The more you collect, the better stuff you can build. Though basic platforming elements remain, and you'll still collect puzzle pieces, the bulk of the game play will revolve around the vehicles you build. And you can build a lot of stuff. The possibilities are basically endless. The way you complete an objective will be up to the stuff you make. Vehicles can be constructed using any parts you have and are built like legos. You stick pieces on to other pieces. That simple. The levels themselves take place in artificial domes that you can visit from the enormous hub world. Most of the old characters are back this time but have different roles to play. Mumbo, for instance, runs the garage where you'll build your rides. There's also a multiplayer aspect in which you can take your creations online. It all seems very intriguing and different, and, frankly, I don't know what to think. It seems like an interesting concept, but for Banjo? I just don't know. I suppose I'll have to actually play the game before I can make final judgments. In the mean time, enjoy these screens and a trailer.

Top Cartoons of the 90's
posted by
Anonymous
Well it's been a while, but I'm finally back. Computer problems + school + laziness+ writers block really prevented me from writing anything for a while.
Anyway this post as you can clearly see from the title is dedicated to the best cartoons of the 90's. I personally think the 90's was the golden era of cartoons. There where so many cartoons at the time that it's hard to chose a top ten for this list. But I've done it, although remember this is solely based on opinion so please don't flame me =).
#10
DARKWING DUCK
I have such fond memories from this show. If there was a top 90's cartoon top ten theme song list, this one would be at the top. Seriously have you ever heard of the theme song for this show? It's fucking hilarious and catchy.
Launchpad McQuack is the protagonist of the story, he is a your average duck when everything is normal and peaceful. But when trouble arises he quickly transforms into Darkwing Duck and fights off a plethora of colorful and sporadic super villains. Darkwing Duck himself is an obvious parody of batman, while most of the super villains in the show are parodies of marvel or D.C. comic super heroes. In summary basically Darkwing Duck is a huge superhero parody.
What made this show so great was it's original characters and humor. Darkwing Duck was a great show but sadly to my knowledge it is no longer shown on Disney or Toon Disney.
Darkwing Duck intro
#9 BOBBY'S WORLD
Bobby's world was truly....an odd show. I'm not saying it wasn't great....it was just odd. The main character of the story was a young boy named Bobby Generic who's over active imagination usually into a lot of trouble. It had a similar formula to Rugrats, where you where essentially seeing the world from the perspective of a small ignorant child. Unlike Rugrats however you where seeing the world from the perspective of only one child. Also unlike Rugrats all the family characters where insane, wacky, and less realistic. And very much unlike any show, Howie Mandel, the writer of the show would sometimes step in and comment on the show.
In Summary Bobby's world was an odd cartoon with a great sense of humor and funny original characters to go along with it. Sadly Bobby's World is no longer aired on TV.
Bobby's World theme song (pretty dam catchy but not nearly as much as Darkwing Duck)
#8 The Angry Beavers
When is comes to original shows, this show really takes the cake. Seriously, what where these guys thinking when they thought of this show. Two Beaver brothers whom have just moved away from home, decided to live with each other in dam and have all sorts of crazy adventures. The beaver brothers are called Norbert and Daggit. Norbert is the more intelligent and popular beaver while Daggit tends to be the more idiotic and less popular beaver.
This show was great for it's laugh out loud moments, original characters, and hilarious parodies. Angry beavers was on Nicktoons TV for a little while, but now it is completely off the air. Sadly another great cartoon bites the dust =(.
Closest thing i could find of the original theme song (It's just the song with a non moving picture in the back round)
One more note: the last episode of the angry beavers was never aired due to a really stupid controversy over the show. So as an act of last rebellion the creators of the show loaded this clip on the internet from the last episode in which Norbert and Daggit are being told they are cartoon and there show will be canceled. The clip is quite funny actually and makes fun of the Nicklaodeon producers.
#7 Tiny Toon Adventures
One of the funniest cartoon series to ever come out of Warner brothers, and directed by Stephen Speilburg, Tiny Toon adventures is an instant classic. The show was sort of spin off/parody of Looney Toon adventures, where young cartoon pupils attend Acme Looniversity in Acme Acres in order to learn the art of cartoonism (WTF is this even a word?). The teachers in the school are all famous Looney Toon characters. All the main characters of the show are also molded after famous Looney Toon Characters.
Tiny Toons was a great cartoon with lots of classic Looney Toon classic humor as well as some adult humor induendos. I really couldn't see them at the time the show aired but if you look back on it there where quite a few innuendos, which in my opinion make the show even better. Like every other previous show, Tiny Toons is off the air.
Tiny Toon Adventures theme song
#6 Pinky and the Brain
One of my personal favorites Pinky and the Brain was without a doubt one of the most popular shows of it's time. The formula for the show was ingenious: two mice, one named Pinky and the other one named Brain, and there plans for global domination. Brain it the smarter of the two, and always wants to take over the world. Pinky is the dumber less serious one, he usually just follows Brain's crazy plans and he usually also messes them up.
The show was great because of two things, it's originality, and its humor. Pinky and the Brain is the prime example of a show in which it's humor caters toward any type of audience of any type of age. Like Tiny Toons, I personally think Pinky and the Brain is an instant classic cartoon.
Pinky and the Brain is still one the air! It airs at an odd time however: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays at 9:00 am on Toon Disney.
Pinky and the Brain theme song
#5 Pokemon (Old School)
Lol, if you grew up in the 90's and didn't know about Pokemon you where literally living under a rock. Pokemon was such a popular cartoon back then, but to top it off it was also a good cartoon! The main story is about an aspiring Pokemon trainer named Ash. To make a very long story short Ash gets a Pokemon named Pickchu, and with the help of Pikachu and his friends Ash hopes to be the greatest Pokemon master ever! Yea I know it sounds corny but some how it worked and became very popular.
Pokemon is a great show because of it's memorable characters and strong plot. The old Pokemon episodes are not show anymore, and the new ones are horrible. If you really want to see the new ones though *sigh* they are on Cartoon Network Tuesday through Thursday at 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Pokemon Theme song (I'll be honest I like the theme song...but sssh don't tell anyone)
#4 Swat Kats
Swat Katz is one of the greatest, yet most forgettable shows ever produced. The story consisted of two Cats named Razor and T-bone. Each of these cats built a jet which they used to fight a variety of enemies that could range from prehistoric dinosaur, to giant robots of doom!
While the plot was a bit linear, the characters where well developed and the atmosphere was amazing well developed for the show.
Swat Kats was an amazing show, although it's very easily forgotten 90's cartoons. My theory of why it is so forgettable is that it only aired twenty three episodes, but man those twenty three episodes where some of the best episodes to ever air in Cartoon Network history.
You can still watch Swat Kats 1:00 am Saturday nights on Boomerang.
Swat Kats theme song (definitely one of the coolest theme song ever, although not as catchy as Darkwing Duck)
#3 X-men
One of Marvel's greatest animated series, X-men was another favorite TV show of mine. The story of the X-men is very long but I'll sum it up as best as I can. The X-men are a group of super mutants whom fight against other evil mutants and occasionally the U.S. government to preserve the world and there kind. The team consist of Cyclops, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Wolverine, The Beast, Gambit, Storm, Rogue, and Professor Xavier.
The show was an instant hit because unlike many Marvel made series it actually followed the damn story line. Also the characters where well developed and deep, it is probably the best Marvel made animated series. The old X-men show is not airing anymore and neither is the newer series that recently came out in early 2000.
X-men Theme song (dam this one might beat Darkwing it's pretty good.....nah Darkwing still wins)
#2 Gargoyles
This...was...my favorite cartoon of all time when growing up. Gargolyes is about a group of six gargoyles whom are the last of their kind. They are ressurected in New York City after 1,000 years of being stone. Through out the story the Gargoyles fight an evil corporation who hopes to capture them and analyze them for experiments, as well as a plethora of other foes.
Goliath (leading Gargoyle in the show), is my favorite cartoon character of all time. Gargoyles was simply amazing: the animation, the plot, and the characters where all perfect. This show actually made me think about humanity! Can you believe that? When was the last time a cartoon made you think?
Gargoyles is still shown at 4:30 am on Toon Disney, yea its an odd time but at least its being aired.

#1 Batman: The animated series
Just to point out quickly, Batman was not my favorite Cartoon so this is not completely biased on my opinion. I don't really think Batman needs a plot introduction so I'll just jump into why it was so good. Batman was ground breaking, the characters are some of the most profound, detailed characters ever created. The plot was perfect and followed the original story line. Robin was no longer a rope swinging pansy, and took on a darker edge. In fact the whole series took on a darker edge including the villains which where created and animated masterfully. The whole idea for a dark atmosphere setting inspired other cartoons such as gargoyles. Batman truly was the best of it's time.
Batman airs Monday through Wednesday on Toon Disney on 8:30 am and 10:30 pm.Batman theme song (Sorry Batman, your duck parody version beats your theme song.)
